“ AFTER MY AWAKENING, HE WILL SET ME CLOSE TO HIM, AND FROM MY FLESH, I SHALL LOOK ON GOD. HE WHOM I SHALL SEE WILL TAKE MY PART: MY EYES WILL BE GAZING ON HIM ALONE….” (JOB 19:26-27)
Those of you who knew the late Hon. Marlon will bear witness that, he was a model for a life well-lived. His unexpected demise has been a mystery till today, but as mysteries are only understood by the omnipotent, we humans leave it to Him alone to unravel, and support our dear brother with our prayers.
Balaji Krishnamurthy, one of the Vistage speakers, talks about the L3, Leadership, Leverage and Legacy. For us, Hon. Marlon accomplished all three. His love and dedication to his family, humanity and the NPP Party is something that any man with good objectives will aim for. He executed his good leadership skills until his last breath. His generosity and kindness, sense of humor, hard work, respect, patience and discipline are virtues that God did not take away from him, and he, in turns, exhibited them well.
He was the First District Chief Executive (DCE) of the newly Guan District, in the Oti Region of Ghana till his departure to his maker. He was only one month in authority, and died just after his first appearance in office. Hon Marlon died less than 24hours after he in the company of the regional Minister and the Regional Director of Education visited all BECE centers to wish the candidates the best of luck in their final exams.
Hon. Marlon, suddenly, you left behind your beloved party, a party you sacrificed your comfort abroad to come and build. You put on hold your dream to see the young Oti Region flourish. To whom have you left the mantle to see the Guan District grow to? Who; I ask, who shall continue your good works?
With pride and respect; our reverence is revealed in the tears that we now stream down our upturned faces as our flag waves above you in her glory and grace. Good work was the gift that you unselfishly gave. Pain and death was the price that you ultimately paid for. Every day, we shall give our utmost admiration to you because, you fought to defend our nation, region, district and party. While some of us sit at home and refuse to lift an arm, some sit around and complain all day how bad this nation has become, you ignored all these and pushed to continue to fight for your people. You are a hero, Hon Marlon.
It is said that people say you are dead; we say you are just resting. Heaven needed a hero, you are the best hero for heaven. You left the people you loved most. You are a true example of being patriotic, regardless of tribe, color, religion. You fought to protect all.
We salute your efforts, we stand with your family, our man forever, we will heart you and respect your loyalty. We will remember! We will remember!!, We will remember you, our brother.
You lived your life in working and loving everyone around you. We will not forget your sacrifices and your death. We will remember your death; we will remember your sacrifice. We will remember your brave death. Rest on my brother.
While we were originally brought together for political purposes, we soon began to learn from his views and perspectives and his wealth of knowledge. This will always be fundamental for our understanding of the world “You carved your name on hearts, not tombstones. A legacy is etched into the minds of others the stories they share about you”
A man has died and taken his place inside of heaven within glorious space. This man who had changed many lives was a man who once stuck into many sufferings. He was a man who bound for hell is true but God raised him up and made him victorious but now he’s gone, and we are mourning his loss; We are devastated and feeling lost. We feel chained down to the floor, afraid to move and depressed all the more. Never the less we are glad we met him, we are grateful that we were part of his recovery skin.
A gentleman that acted in noble motives of men, He’s my Hero
He never demeans others when he easily can, He’s your Hero
A mentor that lives in champions never dies, He’s our Hero
He that converted sorrow to laughter, He’s our Hero
Thank you for being there for the Guan District, NPP Party, Oti Region and Ghana. Thank you for always acting and giving it all you have. Thank you for not running when we needed you(especially during the creation of the Oti Region). Thank you for always caring about your people.
We all had started, we have been ignorant far of being smart, we were weak to stand alone to learn and achieve on our own, you were a father, a passionate brother, a wise careful teacher. A mentor could be anyone, anyone that brings hope, anyone that could motivate us, anyone that made us shine. You were our friend, a true brother, our mentor
Let’s stay together
Let’s love one another
Let’s stay like brothers and sisters forever. We are all the same, we are all humans. We are not mutants. This is our brother’s wish to all of us left behind
Da yi yie.
He de nyui
