TRIBUTE BY B-HeCK Africa NGOs Alliance

TO OUR BELOVED BOARD MEMBER, GOVERNMENT LIAISON AND LEAD ADVISOR IN ALL COMMUNITY MENTAL AND SOCIAL HEALTH INITIATIVES.

On Tuesday, 16th November, 2021, B-HeCK Africa NGOs Alliance lost a propelling force, a board member, a colleague and a friend. News that broke many hearts and halted all our operations. Marlon Praises Anipa was an inspiring individual who was a tireless and unassuming advocate for the charitable causes he believed in.

He was a real activist who always threw himself into practical and concrete tasks with energy and humour. He worked diligently throughout his engagement in the organisation and demonstrated the spirit of humanitarianism such that he was able to influence the entire Alliance to pursue our humanitarian activities as a personal mission. If Marlon believed in it, it would surely be done come what may. He was never one to back down.

For all of us at B-HeCK Africa it is very hard to express how much Marlon meant to us. His was always an active voice, supportive and sometimes critical. He was deeply committed to B-HeCK Africa strengthening its advocacy role and was always full of bright ideas. And that is why we nicknamed him ‘the British Ghanaian simple man.’

We remember in 2020 at the peak of the COVID 19 pandemic, when the organisation saw the need to support the COVID 19 National Trust Fund as part of the HELEH Africa SCED Challenge, Marlon selflessly coordinated singlehandedly every process and parted with his personal income so that the organisation could procure PPEs to donate to frontline workers. With Marlon in the boat, B-HeCK Africa saw possibilities in the realisation of its agenda.

Every moment was precious to Marlon, precious in that he felt one should never be wasted – whether the moment was spent drafting, lobbying, meeting, or talking with friends and colleagues. Marlon was always there, whenever we needed him, and was a constant reminder of our message and vision.

All of us at B-HeCK Africa NGOs Alliance want to share our love and support of Marlon with his family, his friends and colleagues.

B-HeCK Africa will not forget Marlon Praises Anipa.
