TRIBUTE BY OLD STUDENTS AWUSCO

OSUA’76 is saddened by the news that Marlon Praises Anipa (63) had passed on.

His classmates have fond memories of Praises as a “true gentleman” who loved debating and was doing a great job on the political landscape of Ghana.

We first met in September, 1971 in AWUSCO as first year students and immediately bonded as a family. Praises was one individual that does not want to be trampled upon nor any other colleague by another person. We remember vividly when there was a misunderstanding between the Year Group and the School Administration, Praises elected himself to be among our representatives to defend us at the Regional Education Office, Ho. We credit him for being a fearless and coherent speaker.

After his University graduation, he sojourned in Britain for a long time but visited Ghana from time to time. The last time we met as a year group was during the 50th Anniversary of AWUSCO in Tsito but the communication among us was never down.

At the news of Praises’ passing, tributes poured in on Facebook and Whatsapp celebrating his life and legacy. Friends remember him as a humble but principled guy who loved to share his knowledge of the beautiful game of debating topical issues.

We remember him as a warm, friendly and jovial person and used to brag to our friends about him that OSUA’76 have the men.

Colleague OSUA’76, we know his absence will live a void in our hearts and life but are encouraged that he is in a better place, he has gone to be with his maker, no more pain, no more worry, no more suffering. One day we will all meet again and sit by the ocean and relive the Happy Moments.

Gone but will always remain in our hearts. Love you, Praises. Rest in peace our friend and colleague. Every time we see a star, we’ll smile and remember you. Till we meet again Praises, rest in the bosom of the Lord.
